Once again, Google Images has come to the rescue. |
Out of the corner of my eye, I saw my sister pick up her drink to take a sip. And then, right before the cup made it to her mouth, one little drop slipped out of the cup and it landed on her shirt. She froze. I saw the scene map out before it even happened, this was not the first time. She slowly peered down around her cup, and glared at the shirt. The cup was set down quickly, her body stiffened. "MOM." She had her brother's attention, but her mother was across the room, reading a book.
"Yes, Belle?" My mom asked unconcernedly.
"I WET!"
The two brother's started to laugh. She refused to finish the meal.
My little sisters reaction to this little drop of apple juice, reminds me of how people react when times get frustrating. Or when our siblings get on our nerves. We refuse to look past this minor inconvenience. We refuse to look at the bigger picture. We stiffen, we stop during the middle of the race, and we stride off the track in a fit of righteous anger. We've been blessed beyond compare, but we refuse to focus on those and instead focus on the wrong someone did to us. We forget that the Creator of the Universe loves us. He cares so much for us that He sent His only Son to die in our stead. Then how much easier should it be for us to love that one person who annoyed us?
