What Happened on the 26th Day of June, the Year of Our Lord 2015

On this 26th day of June Anno Domini 2015, our Supreme Court took a stance on homosexual mirage.  They made it illegal to pass a law to prohibit same sex marriage in any of the 50 States on America. (Which is completely unconstitutional, but that is a post for another day.)

Are we really surprised?

In a time when our nation is riddled with problems, we shouldn't even flinch when they pass a ridiculous law such as this.  Problems that cost the lives of innocent children and tears the natural order of the world to pieces.  In today's world, there are no absolutes.  And without absolutes, there is no such thing as a moral law.  And because there is no moral law, everything goes.

This has been happening for years, and we still manage to pull the "deer in the headlights" look off quite well.  It started off sounding good, "We should tolerate everything, accept for intolerance itself."  So how did it come to this?  It's not exactly like we were led blind-folded to this point in time.  It was gradual, and we could see it coming from miles away.  It was there on the horizon, and we could all see it clearly.  But still.. somehow, someway, the Supreme Court has taken it upon itself to make this ruling on homosexuality.

"And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light.  So it is no surprise if his servants, also, disguise themselves as servants of righteousness.  Their ends will correspond to their deeds." (I Corinthians 11:14-15 ESV)

So, yes, it has come to this.  The devil can work in ways that sound good, but at the end, it is completely obvious;  I'm just going to come out.. and say that homosexuality is a sin.  It is stated directly and plainly.  And it is a sin.  There is no getting around it.  "For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions.  For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error." (Romans 1:26-27 ESV)  Our nation has already justified murder (abortion), so what is one more blatant sin against the Most High?

So, under the disguise of protecting tolerance for all, the leftists took it upon themselves to label the Christians as the intolerant.  I am completely honored that they took all that time to create a label for us.  Really.. quite touching.  They truly care for us  And thus, over the years, there has been plenty of controversy over "those bigoted" Christians who just won't accept progress.

Geez, we just keep getting underfoot.

God must be chuckling.

Many Christians get caught up and concerned about what people think about us, about how our reputation among men will be damaged beyond repair, and about how we must be such a constant annoyance to the leaders of today. What we should be concerned about is whether we are actually doing exactly what God wants us to do.  We are so easily distracted about what men think of us, that we forget Who really deserves our praise and efforts.  Turning the world upside down is exactly what we're called to do.  Jesus was a radical.  He turned the world upside down on its head, and it's still reeling, trying to shake its head clear of the taste of perfection that walked it for 33 years.

When a whole nation seems to be angry at us for getting in the way of progress, remember this. Christ loved the whole world, and yet He suffered for that.  Don't forget that. There will be plenty of trials and tribulations to come in the future.

Don't worry.

That's the game plan.

To live and love in Christ's name.  And if we're doing that, the world is going to hate us.  It can't stand holiness or true love.  So yes, we will be persecuted.  But we will be blessed for all eternity.

God bless.
