The purpose of this new series is for me to write about different aspects of Moscow through the lens of a college student. (But that is subject to evolve, as I develop this idea further.)
Like I mentioned earlier, one of the things that makes Moscow Moscow is the community. And of course, there are many different aspects that make it into the community that it is, so I just wanted to take one piece of it and share it with you. Much like a delicious cheesecake, one slice is just right. If you take anymore than that, you might start to feel your belt begin to stretch abit more than you had intended it to. So, we will just start with this one slice, and work from there.
Here you go. Here's your first piece:
Bucer's Coffee House Pub. It is situated on Main Street between First and Second streets. Being just a few blocks from New Saint Andrews, it is the regular meet up spot for my fellow classmates and friends to study and hangout. It is a inviting place to go socialize, but also get studying done. Although, one of the common complaints that I get from some of my classmates is that they can't be productive there because it is a very active social scene. Now, that is just the opposite for me. When I write, I enjoy background noise. But not background noise that is just white noise, rather when I look up from my computer screen, I can observe other humans at their work. It has a calming effect for me.
Besides all of this, it has friendly service and good coffee. If I'm ever asked where to go for coffee, I point to Bucer's.
