We've all heard of the Battle of Thermopylae, where a mere three hundred Spartans clashed with over a million Persians to give their fellow Greeks a chance to prepare for the oncoming assault.  They all died in that defense.

When you think of this story, you are most likely awed by that fact that so few men were prepared to take up the sword against such a strong enemy.  An enemy that had a multitude of soldiers.  Very much like Christians and our battle against the darkness of this world.

Satan has many weapons, and he is very wily about how he uses them.  We need to be prepared for those assaults.  Christ laid down His life, like the Spartans did, to give us a chance.  To give us a shot at Eternal Life.  He faced many foes.  Even some of his own people, who had not yet been saved.  And we are the rest of the Greeks, just catching onto the fact that we need to be ready to fight.  The Fight was finished before it was even started, but we still need to be on guard.  Satan is a sore loser.
