The Egotistical God?

Why does He demand me to worship Him?  Why does He demand that we keep His day Holy?  He is totally a jealous God.  Why can't we worship graven images?  Why would we want to worship Him?

These are probably some of the things that we can struggle with.  We ask ourselves, "Why does God demand so much of us?  Why is He so bossy?" *insert whiny voice here*

Another question could be posed, asking, "Why are you called to be loyal to Him?"  The majority of these can be answered in a simple sentence.  Because HE made us.  Three simple words: He made us.  And that should be the reason we are loyal to Him.  Think about it.. if we hadn't fallen, where would we be?  We would be in the Garden of Eden, glorifying and praising God.  With no selfish thought or sinful want.  We would be living the  full and peaceful life that He wanted us to have.

Here is where it comes down to the point.  We were made to worship Him.  We aren't just glorifying God because He wants all the glory, we worship Him and in that we will find peace.  So, when you close out of this tab, or switch back over to Facebook, remember who made you and gave you the breath that you breathe.  Don't forget the Son of God, who sacrificed Himself in our place, so that we could stand before the Almighty Father blameless.  Remember who is your King, and act like it.

23 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
    He makes me lie down in green pastures.
He leads me beside still waters.[a]
    He restores my soul.
He leads me in paths of righteousness[b]
    for his name's sake.
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,[c]
    I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
    your rod and your staff,
    they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me
    in the presence of my enemies;
you anoint my head with oil;
    my cup overflows.
Surely[d] goodness and mercy[e] shall follow me
    all the days of my life,
and I shall dwell[f] in the house of the Lord
    forever.[g]
(Psalm 23)  Come to the Prince of Peace, and find rest.
