Thunderstorms

Rescued by Google Images
As I sit here, clattering around on this keyboard, a thunderstorm has just ended.  It got me in the mood to write something deep.  Well, maybe not something deep.  Atleast to write about something.

Thunderstorms make one feel insignificant.  They roll in, on the bridled power of the wind, clashing and colliding with each other, roaring to be heard over the others.  Then, there's the lightening.  Flashing in a display of terrific beauty that leaves us stunned.  It strikes then retires just as quickly.

People try to measure it, study it, and try to understand it.  All of these efforts to grasp at a powerful piece in God's masterpiece, yet sometimes we should just sit back and enjoy this show put on by nature.  The show put on by nature for it's Creator.  Sometimes it seems overwhelming, that although we are the stewards of this world, it is still so much more than us.  Or so it seems, it seems as though something this terrifying cannot be tamed.  And you're right.  It can't.  Atleast not by us.  But the storm, wind, rain, and lightening were woven by the same God that formed us.  The difference is that He breathed life into us, and we were made in His image.  We are the jewels of His creation.

So when another thunderstorm rolls around, pop some corn, grab the fam and pull up the chairs to the window.  Tell stories.  Enjoy one anothers fellowship.  And enjoy the show!
