Laughter.
It makes bones crackle and ribs bend. It makes cheekbones ache and eyes sparkle. It surrounds those you love and protects you against fear. It's crazy. It's unexplainable. It brings joy in the darkest moments.
Laughter.
Laughter is what we associate with our family. It brings back memories. God gave us a special gift when he gave us laughter. It is one of the many things that separates us from the rest of creation. The Father gave us the ability to reason, to love, and to laugh. In Job 18:21 we see that God gives us laughter, "He will yet fill your mouth with laughter, and your lips with shouting." And also in Psalm 126:2, "Then our mouth was filled with laughter and our tongue with shouts of joy; then they said among the nations, "the Lord has done great things for them."
As Christians, we have much to rejoice about, and laughter is one of those ways that we express that joy.
"Against the assault of laughter, nothing can stand." - Mark Twain.
