~ Chasing the Sun and Some Much Needed R and R ~

I woke up this morning, half tempted to go back to sleep.  6:30 isn't exactly the ideal time to wake up on break.  But then I remembered why I had woken up.  My plan had been to get up and watch the sunrise.  If you know anything about Moscow, then you understand that people who live here don't see the sun after September.  So, maybe you can have some sympathy for this plan.  Remembering this, I stumbled out of my bed and walked to peer out of my window.  When I pulled back the curtains of my window and saw the clear skies outside, adrenaline pumped through my veins, sleep forgotten. Suddenly, I was wide awake.  Pulling on my sweatshirt and throwing my shoes on, I dashed out of the apartment, running at a pace that I don't normally hold, but today, I was chasing the sun.

Once I had taken up my position to watch the sunrise, I waited patiently.  But as I waited, my brain wandered over the past term.  I remember coming out of my last class the week before finals, and thinking that it was more like week three instead of week seven.  Since coming up here, time seems to fly.  This term was no exception.  It feels like I've been trying to catch Niagara Falls in a bucket.  Spring break couldn't have arrived sooner.  This week was a refreshing time spent with friends, family, and in the sun.  I feel ready for what's next.

Bring on Westminster.

A day that includes watching Lord of the Rings, eating Soup, walking around downtown in the sun , and hanging out with friends is a good day indeed.
